2015 Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Awards

Congratulations to the winners, runners-up, and finalists of the 2015 Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Awards! The winners, as selected by the ICTA jury, were announced at ICTC2015 in Toronto, on Monday, March 9, 2015.

2015 ICTAs: Intact Financial Corporation

This year's ICTA winner was Intact Financial Corporation, who rolled out a new visual user interface leveraging geocoding to enable 1,200 underwriters to make faster, more informed decisions regarding new and renewal policies.

2015 ICTAs: Independent Broker Resources Inc. (IBRI)

The first runner-up was Independent Broker Resources Inc. (IBRI), for Fleet advisor – a web-based fleet management solution sold by brokers that assists fleet managers in managing risk and sets driving score benchmarks for drivers to aspire to.

2015 ICTAs: Johnson Inc.

Johnson Inc. adopted Peril Score, a solution which accurately predicts the likelihood and severity of water, fire, wind, hail and crime loss by geo-coded property address, empowering insurers to identify properties that are more at risk for claims frequency and severity.

RSA debuted a Live Chat feature on its WebBusiness personal lines portal, allowing brokers to interact with an RSA web agent in a new way that makes their processing experience easier and more seamless.

People's Choice Awards

2015 ICTAs: Industrial Alliance Auto and Home Insurance

The ‘PICTA’ winner was Industrial Alliance Auto and Home Insurance. IAAH deployed a new underwriting, policy administration, billing, claims and customer management platform for auto and homeowners and other personal lines of business for its operations in Quebec, replacing legacy systems.

2015 ICTAs: Intact Financial Corporation

The first runner-up was Intact Financial Corporation. With the new interface in place, efficiencies achieved during the quoting process resulted in a 15% reduction in processing time; in addition, better risk segmentation will lead to better risk selection and lower claims costs.

2015 ICTAs: Cornerstone Insurance Brokers

The second runner-up was Cornerstone Insurance Brokers. Deploying the Keal Engage solution enabled CSIB to survey their consumer engagement, in real time, triggered by the policy renewal transaction in a completely automated fashion with zero effort required by their employees.

2015 ICTAs: ABEX Affiliated Brokers Exchange

ABEX Affiliated Brokers Exchange Inc. and ITS developed a next-generation Policy Administration System, ABEXAccess.com™, that provides secure Real-Time Rating and Paperless Policy Issuance through the ITS BindEasy Solution.

2015 ICTAs: Erie Mutual Insurance Company

Erie Mutual Insurance Company turned to data analytics to become more customer-centric, analyzing its customers with the PRIZMC2 segmentation system to better understand market size, policyholders and prospects.

2015 ICTAs: The Guarantee

The Guarantee set up an online incident-reporting tool which allows transportation customers to report a claim, create alerts, add distribution lists, find a contractor, and get access to resources from strategic partners.

2015 ICTAs: RSA

RSA implemented an analytics tool to measure and drive the effectiveness of its 20+ websites. The tool facilitates A|B & Multivariate testing based on its own analytics and search keywords, in order to test different hypotheses in a live environment.

2015 ICTAs: Sharp Insurance

Sharp Insurance developed the iMobileBroker app and BrokerScape portal to give clients accessibility to their insurance details, anywhere and at any time; instead of calling into brokerages for pink cards or payment dates, or to submit a claim, clients are able to do all of these transaction and more from their mobile phones or computers.
