Deloitte Canada Acquires BDO Canada’s Dayforce Practice

Acquisition strengthens Deloitte’s workforce technology capabilities and further enhances its ability to support clients through complex workforce transformation

New York, NY (Aug. 12, 2026) – Organizations today are navigating unprecedented workforce change, driven by evolving talent expectations, AI-enabled ways of working, and the need for greater business agility. In response to these challenges, Deloitte Canada is pleased to announce the acquisition of BDO Canada’s Dayforce practice. By expanding its workforce technology capabilities, Deloitte strengthens its ability to help clients design, implement, and optimize human capital solutions that connect technology investments to workforce. The acquisition positions Deloitte as one of Canada’s largest Dayforce practices and further enhances its ability to support clients through complex workforce transformation.

“As the largest Canadian-owned and operated professional services firm, Deloitte is committed to helping organizations transform their workforce to be fit for the future,” said Anthony Viel, Chief Executive Officer, Deloitte Canada. “This expansion of our Dayforce capabilities strengthens our ability to deliver a differentiated workforce technology offering and increases our leadership in Human Capital transformation and advisory.”

Deloitte Canada and BDO Canada share a commitment to helping organizations realize the full value of workforce technology. This transaction ensures the Dayforce practice will continue supporting organizations as they implement and optimize the platform.

“The Thoma Bravo acquisition of Dayforce introduced global independence restrictions for BDO Canada that have changed the nature of our relationship with the organization and the way in which we provide Dayforce implementation services,” said Bruno Suppa, Chief Executive Officer, BDO Canada. “By transitioning the Dayforce practice, this gives this team of specialized professionals further flexibility to expand their practice and to continue supporting clients with their implementation needs.”

To reimagine work, unlock the power of AI, and build more agile, resilient, and human-centered enterprises – organizations continue to invest in integrated, cloud-based human capital platforms. As workforce expectations evolve and regulatory complexity increases, leaders are seeking trusted partners who can combine deep implementation expertise, AI-enabled innovation, and human-led transformation to deliver business outcomes at scale.

Deloitte’s acquisition of the practice enhances its capabilities in Dayforce implementation and workforce technology, bringing together deep platform expertise, proven delivery experience, and a strong presence in the Dayforce ecosystem. The move adds professionals and Dayforce-certified consultants that strategically strengthen Deloitte’s ability to support complex programs, from strategy and solution design, through to implementation and post-go-live support, including managed services.

“This investment reflects our continued focus on scaling innovative and differentiated capabilities and deepening our specialization in a platform that is gaining strong momentum in Canada,” adds Brad Francis, Partner National Human Capital Leader, Deloitte Canada. “Together, we are well positioned to accelerate our client’s transformation ambitions in a rapidly evolving environment, while enabling their workforce to deliver more meaningful outcomes.

The future belongs to organizations that can successfully combine the power of AI with the potential of their people. Deloitte Canada’s Human Capital practice sits at the forefront of this shift, helping organizations drive business transformation, accelerate workforce innovation, and unlock the full value of AI-enabled enterprises.
