Toronto, ON (Mar 10. 20, 2026) – The Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) has launched CatView, a new Google Maps–based geographic information system (GIS) platform providing visualized natural hazard data for users across Canada.
Designed for insurers and brokers, reinsurers and reinsurance intermediaries, all levels of government, lenders, researchers and others, CatView delivers an accessible, centralized source for critical natural hazard information.
CatView currently includes data layers for a growing suite of perils, including earthquake and liquefaction, extreme wind, hail, wildfire, landslide, and other natural hazards. The portal is designed as a living resource that will be regularly updated as new data becomes available, ensuring users always have access to the most current information.
Use of CatView is completely free, requiring only a simple one‑time registration for full access.
