Toronto, ON (May 21, 2025) – CSIO is pleased to announce that Definity Financial Corporation has achieved CSIO’s eDocs and Compliance Certifications, demonstrating their commitment to further enhancing efficiency for the broker channel.
Definity obtained eDocs Certification by confirming that they have deployed the updated eDocs Standards into production and can send the updated codes and descriptions to Broker Management Systems (BMS). Furthermore, all BMS vendors have programmed the updated eDocs codes and descriptions, ensuring that Definity’s brokers will receive the latest eDocs Standards in their BMS. Concise eDocs descriptions remove the need for brokers to open every eDoc to determine its contents, resulting in significant time savings.
By earning CSIO’s Compliance Certification, Definity has attested that they have eliminated all Z-Codes (non-standard coverage codes) from their data exchange services with brokers. When insurers eliminate Z-Codes and only use CSIO Standard codes, brokers benefit from accurate data and an improved customer experience.
“Achieving eDocs and Compliance Certifications reflects our commitment to helping brokers deliver exceptional service by simplifying their processes,” said Tatjana Lalkovic, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Definity Financial Corporation. “Definity is proud to continue working with CSIO to benefit both brokers and customers with clearly defined Standards.”
“Definity’s accomplishments illustrate the effectiveness of collaboration to support industry Data Standards and improve efficiency in the P&C broker channel,” said Kathryn Sinclair, Interim President, CSIO. “We are pleased to see the significant progress in advancing Data Standards for enhanced connectivity between insurers and brokers.”
Several CSIO members are working towards completing their eDocs and Compliance Certifications. Insurers can download CSIO’s eDocs Business Requirements and Certification Document to apply for eDocs Certification. They can also email certifications@csio.com to learn more about becoming Compliance Certified.
