Insurance Providers & Personal Assistant (AI Agent) Buyers

Scenario: A provider of insurance – broker, MGA, insurance company – decides to make insurance available to personal assistants or AI agents. What are some of the considerations?

Aside from the business decisions, there are process and technical requirements to be met. In simple terms, here are a few:

Identity: Is this a personal assistant I am willing to do business with?

Set up a Contact: Is a personal assistant a contact separate from the person or business it is representing?

Product request: Is this request for a product I am serving in this channel?

Present product schemata: Deliver the product details in a format the personal assistant can understand.

Process the submission: Edit for errors until acceptable or rejected

Quote: Return the terms and conditions

Bind/issue/pay: Process an accepted quote

Mid-term changes and renewal: Process changes and present options.

Continual innovation and developments in processing digital insurance over the last two decades have provided a base for much of the required functionality – a solid base to build on.

Personal assistants are here today, in insurance. But will they catch on? Will they eventually predominate? What factors will determine how quickly they multiply?
