What options do you have if you disagree with your insurance company during the settlement of a home or auto insurance claim? Normally, insurance companies provide a series of steps that allow you to appeal within the company, which include escalating the matter within the Claims department and ultimately being considered by the company's ombudsperson. If the matter remains unresolved, it may be heard by the dispute resolution service provided by your provincial government. And – if you're a client of The Co-operators – you may also have the option of having it reviewed by an impartial panel made up of your fellow clients.

The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations is pleased to announce that Intact Insurance has obtained CSIO Certification for its electronic documentation solution. CSIO Certification is available to member insurance companies and vendors. eDocs is the first business activity available for certification, with plans to expand the program to cover other activities.

Aviva announces 2013 Community Fund winners

Cowan Foundation makes a donation to Brantford & Area Sports Hall
On Friday, January 24, The Cowan Foundation presented a donation cheque in support of the Brantford & Area Sports Hall of Recognition to Chris Friel, Mayor of Brantford; Mike Woodburn, Chair of the Brantford & Area Sports Hall of Recognition; and Sandy Jackson, Director of Recreation at the City of Brantford. The presentation took place at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre and Sir Walter Gretzky was on hand to share incredible stories of hockey history from the eyes of hockey's most famous dad.
