from Doug:
Although I do not have a green thumb, I have a small number of Loyalist Roses. Brought from Scotland to New York Province in 1773, the Cameron family brought the rose bush to Ontario when they were evicted by the rebels. After my virtual neglect for a few years, I spent some time on the weekend moving about ten bushes of different sizes from one plot to another, Maybe they will multiply a little faster now. Thankfully, as a wild rose, they are quite hardy and able to survive my benign neglect. Time will tell how they make out now.
