As the travel insurance product, unlike auto insurance, does not tend to vary across Canada, rates for an insurer's product would usually be the same regardless of the location where you live, although there may be certain restrictions. Thus, if you are interested solely in the rate, you can probably use any of the following sites and see little difference for the rate for the same insurer's product. Company and agent sites will tend to have only their own products - broker or mall sites will often show products from more than one company.
When you decide to buy insurance, the sales organization - broker, agent, company - must be licensed to do so in your province. If you don't wish to buy on-line or through a company call centre, you should look for representation in your province.
