Answers

1. What is the ICTA Ceremony?

The presentation of the annual Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Awards (ICTAs) is highlighted in a ceremony recognizing the nominees, and celebrating the finalists and runners-up alongside the winners of the juried and People's Choice ICTA awards. This year, it caps off the first day of the Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Conference (ICTC2020) on Tuesday, February 25.

We hope everyone attending the Technology Conference will attend. All registrations for the Technology Conference include admission to the awards ceremony on Tuesday afternoon.

The presentations will begin late in the afternoon. A networking reception will follow, ending around 6:00pm.

2. When is the ICTA Ceremony?

This mini-event will begin at 3:30pm on Tuesday, February 25. The reception will close around 6:00pm.

If you are an ICTA nominee or otherwise attending only the final awards portion of Tuesday's agenda, registration will open for you at 2:30pm during the afternoon coffee break.

For everyone attending the first day of the conference, registration opens at 7:30am.

3. Where is the ceremony?

Following the presentation of the ICTA awards, the conference reception will be held in the Experience Zone.

The location of the conference is as follows:

Beanfield Centre
Exhibition Place, Toronto
105 Princes' Blvd.
Toronto, ON; M6K 3C3
Tel: (416) 263-3000

4. Who will be recognized?

All nominees will be recognized informally but individually in a video presentation during the ceremony. Each finalist will be presented with a plaque, as will any technology provider referenced as part of a finalist's nomination.

The runners-up and the winner will be announced.

Three People's Choice (‘PICTA’) awards will be bestowed as well.

5. Who may attend the ceremony?

Everyone who has registered for any part of the Technology Conference is welcome to attend the awards ceremony and reception. We hope everyone who has registered will attend.

Register for the Technology Conference here or contact [email protected] if you are an ICTA nominee and wish to register only for the Tuesday afternoon awards ceremony.

6. What is the fee for finalists?

Each finalist may register two people free of charge for the ICTA ceremony & reception (see Q1). The two delegates may be from the finalist, or any combination of the finalist and their identified technology provider(s), or a guest or representative.

To register these free delegates, submit the necessary registration details (name, title, company name, and email address) to [email protected].

Please contact [email protected] if you wish to bring additional attendees to the awards ceremony and reception. The fee is $225 for each additional person beyond the first two.

7. As a finalist, can I share the program with a group of fellow employees?

As a finalist (or technology provider to a finalist), you may wish to send a larger group to the ceremony to celebrate. To register additional delegates for the ICTA program, contact [email protected] (fees apply as above – refer to Q6.)

8. How does the ceremony work?

We request that representatives for the finalists and their technology providers sit at the front near the stage for the plenary presentation, or, failing that, move to the front as the speaker is being thanked and the ICTA ceremony begins.

Following a brief video review of all nominations, the finalists and their technology providers will be noted.

The runners-up and winner will then be announced.

When those congratulations are completed, the People's Choice awards will be presented.

During the ceremony, plaques will be presented (more precise directions will be provided to the finalists prior to the event).

As the ICTA ceremony concludes, all the groups are requested to stay for picture-taking. Each delegation that receives a plaque will be photographed – these will be posted on a winners page (see last year's). Finalists will have the opportunity, if requested, for a larger group photo which includes supporting cast members.

The reception will follow.

9. As a finalist, runner-up, or winner, how can I spread the word?

Congratulations are in order! Insurance-Canada.ca will reference your accomplishments on our website and in communications with our industry newsletter subscribers.

We will also provide you with a graphic badge or button which you may wish to incorporate into your website or for use on digital or print materials.

The plaque, of course, you may display wherever and however you deem appropriate. One winner from a previous year ordered additional copies of their plaque so they could be displayed in multiple company offices.
