Outbound travel coverage and duty of care solution

Toronto, ON (Sept. 15, 2016) – Ingle International has launched the Canadian Student Travel Insurance Plan, an outbound travel insurance product that serves travelling Canadian students and chaperones from the majority of school boards across Alberta. Students and chaperones can expect all-inclusive coverage backed by 24/7 emergency medical and security assistance. Coverage is arranged on a group basis through Ingle International. This plan was created to provide comprehensive, convenient insurance coverage for all school trips over the course of the year, as well as duty of care solutions to take on an ever-changing world.

"Alberta school boards were on the lookout for a product that meets the demands for protection of their travelling students and chaperones. Ingle International has supported the inbound international students in Alberta for a number of years; so the extension to support outbound Canadian students from Alberta felt natural. " says Stephanie Hiltz, International Student Account Manager at Ingle International.

The plan will be supported by a custom travel insurance website created by Ingle International which provides policy information, optional additional plans for family members and non-school travellers, and consumer-friendly content. Further, Ingle International's in-house emergency medical and security assistance group will service the plan with emergency assistance, doctor referrals, medical consults, message relay for families, and interpretation services.

Benefits of the Canadian Student Travel Insurance Plan include:

  • Trip Cancellation and Interruption: protection for pre-paid, non-refundable trip costs prior to departure and coverage for unforeseen travel expenses post-departure. Automatically included is the "School Board Discretion" benefit, a unique trip cancellation feature that provides partial coverage for trips cancelled for reasons other than the specific insured risks listed in the policy wording ("cancel for any reason" coverage).
  • Emergency Medical: coverage for expenses related to unforeseen sickness and injury, including medical transportation.
  • Duty of Care: mobile security alerts, real-time traveller tracking, and two-way communication courtesy of the Travel Navigator™ dashboard.

Outside of its release in Alberta, the Canadian Student Travel Insurance Plan and Duty of Care solution will be marketed across-Canada.
