The presentation of the annual Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Awards (ICTAs) is highlighted in a ceremony recognizing the nominees, and celebrating the finalists and runners-up alongside the winners of the juried and People's Choice ICTA awards. This year, it caps off the day of the Insurance-Canada.ca Technology Conference (ICTC2017) on Tuesday, February 28.
The ICTA ceremony is a plenary event, and we hope everyone attending the Technology Conference or the Broker Forum will attend. All registrations for the Technology Conference or Broker Forum include admission to the awards ceremony and plenary presentation on Tuesday afternoon.
This mini-event will begin on Tuesday, February 28 at 3:45pm. Andrew Lo, COO, Kanetix, will give a plenary presentation (“Behind the Wheel of Disruption: What's Driving Your Consumers?”), after which the ICTA ceremony will commence. A networking reception will follow, ending around 6:30pm.
This mini-event will begin at 3:30pm on Tuesday, February 28. The reception will close around 6:30pm.
If you have registered for just the ICTA program, registration will be open for you at 3:00pm.
For those attending the conference, registration opens at 7:30am.
Following the presentation of the 2017 ICTA awards, the conference reception will be held in the adjacent Exhibit Hall.
The location of the conference is as follows:
Exhibition Place, Toronto
105 Princes' Blvd.
Toronto, ON; M6K 3C3
Tel: (416) 263-3000
All nominees will be recognized informally but individually during the ceremony. Each finalist will be presented with a plaque, as will any technology provider referenced as part of a finalist's nomination.
The runners-up and the winner will be announced.
Everyone who has registered for any combination of the Technology Conferece (ICTC2017), Broker Forum (ICBF2017), or Awards program (ICTAs) is welcome to attend the awards ceremony and reception. We hope everyone who has registered will attend.

Each finalist may register two people free of charge for the ICTA ceremony & reception (see Q1). The two delegates may be from the finalist, or any combination of the finalist and their identified technology provider(s), or a guest or representative.
To register these free delegates, submit the necessary registration details (name, title, company name, and email address) to Doug Grant at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The regular fee is $300, discounted to $275 for insurers or $225 for brokers who register with their corporate email address.
If your company is a conference sponsor or supporter, a 20% discount is available via a registration code.
Early-bird rates are in effect until Friday, January 20. Discounts for multiples (2 events or 2 delegates).
As a finalist (or technology provider to a finalist), you may wish to send a larger group to the ceremony to celebrate. Additional delegates can register through the online registration system as normal. (Fees apply as above – refer to Q6.)
We request that representatives for the finalists and their technology providers sit at the front near the stage for the Kanetix plenary presentation, or, failing that, move to the front as the speaker is being thanked and the ICTA ceremony begins.
Following a brief video review of all nominations, the finalists and their technology providers will be noted.
The runners-up and winner will then be announced.
When those congratulations are completed, the People's Choice awards will be presented.
During the ceremony, plaques will be presented (more precise directions will be provided to the finalists prior to the event).
As the ICTA ceremony concludes, all the groups are requested to stay for a series of more formal photos. Each group should be a small delegation that receives the plaque. In addition, some request a photo of a larger group which includes supporting cast members. We will use the photos of the smaller groups especially to further recognize your achievements.
The reception will follow.
Congratulations are in order! Insurance-Canada.ca will reference your accomplishments on our website and in communications with our industry newsletter subscribers.
We will also provide you with a graphic badge or button which you may wish to incorporate into your website or for use on digital or print materials.
The plaque, of course, you may display wherever and however you deem appropriate. One winner from a previous year ordered additional copies of their plaque so they could be displayed in multiple company offices.
